Hi guys,
Ok, so I got myself a PSI Power Box IP, giving my PD150 a few extra furry friends.
But now I have a problem: how do I keep that extra torque on the tarmack? With my traction control on, the resulting effect can be quite interesting. But with it off, it's wheelspin all the way to third and some times fourth gear!
I need some extra traction... Currently on standard 16" 2002 GTI alloys, I was thinking of something wider, and maybe some harder shocks.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
fck

Uprating the dog bone mount bush will keep the front end down nice and tight, bigger/wider wheels and tyres will obviously help. At this time of year wheelspin is near unavoidable, especially with all that low down torque of diesels... try going out for a few runs with the traction control off, and learn how the car responds to varying amounts of throttle (i dont have traction control on mine at all, so had to learn the hard way !)

hehehe... wise comments...
Ok, so an 18" upgrade shall be! Now the question becomes: what sort of wheels? So many brands, looks, deals... Man, I'm not used to so much choice. Went to Halfords earlier on, and came out of it more confused than when I went in. Do you know of any good reference sites with pics and good prices? Ideally, I'm looking at wheel/tire sets to have it all the easy way. Man, I'm lazy...
But I did get those headlights on myself! :-)
It's a lovely day outside; let's go for a spin without traction control and see how it goes!
Cheers,
fck

Have a look on ebay.? That's where I got my current alloys (genuine audi TT 17" for ?350 including part-worn Pirellis)? ?
If you're going for wheel-tyre sets, make sure you get decent tyres. They're what connect you to the road - so there's no point scrimping there (especially if you're after extra traction!)
