Post by: chrisr103 on 25 May 2010, 21:18: Just thought I would post a thread on my my GT TDi.

After owning a few MK4 Golf's & spending money on them to mod them I decided this time when I sold the Golf I would hold out for a standard GT TDi 140,

I looked at a few & even some 1.9 TDi sport's but none of them seemed right for me, Then one day I saw what looked to be a nice genuine example on Ebay, It was in Ilkeston in Derbyshire (About 80 miles from me)

I rang it up & made arrangements to go & see it the next day after I finished work. It took me about 2 hours or so to get there due to the rush hour traffic, Anyway when I got there I had a good look round it & took it for a test drive,

I found it hard to fault the car so when negotiation time came I couldnt really say too much negative about it but I started with a low offer & ended up paying £5900 for it.

The car is a 04 plate GT TDi, 2 previous owners (One being VW as it was a demo car), 92070 miles, Full service history (last done in November 2009 at 91500 miles, On the last service it had new discs & pads all round, 3 new Pirelli tyres, it also had its timing belt done at 81000 miles,

12 Months MOT, Taxed till end of October, All previous MOT Papers & tax discs.

The spec of the car is far better than my mk4 with, Auto light's, Auto wipers', Auto dim interior mirror, 16" Alloys,front arm rest with 6 disc cd changer, Overall im really happy with the car & how it drives.

All the mk5 I have seen with the half black rear bumper have the front matching also one has rubbing strips, so I might be wrong but one bumper has been changed.

It's standard. Mine has the black rear valence but colour coded side mouldings and front.

That's what he's being picky about as I said that ALL Mk5's had the black bumper :rolleyes:

Post by: Hurdy on 28 May 2010, 22:42: They are made by Valeo, who are the OEM light manufacturers. They were only offered as OEM+ equipment in europe. I managed to snap up a set for a very good price off someone off another forum and then sold on my own OEM ones (same as R32). The LED rears in my opinion should have been standard equipment as the rear light clusters are poor at best and dangerous at the worst. Just look at a MKV car braking and indicating at night - you can hardly see the indicator :undecided:

looks loads better with the rims n debadge. I'm unsure bout the valance...still like the Gti colour coded.

Post by: dan_apps on 30 May 2010, 10:07: that particular model parrott i had and had issues with it and the iphone, only auto syncing when you got in the car which can be done manually and not the end of the world, my work phone did it automatically and was just a simple nokia jobby!

I would imagine any audio installer would charge about £30 - £40 to fit as it really is just plug & play

You should get yourself a build thread on here dude, Ill be keeping an eye on this

Not really, The rear valance was £45, The skirts £80, Then the Exhaust was £70
