o just sat at home when my mobile rings don't recognize the number but answer anyway
It was someone looking to have some photos done found my profile on model mayhem / pure storm, asked what they wanted and said they wanted about 4 Glamour/lingerie photos.
This isnt a problem but then they asked if i would do it for free to which i said no, said to look at my website with the prices etc and to drop me a email with some further info if they wanted to go ahead with some photos
Now this was the first time ive ever had a random phone call for some photos, didn't help that the person ringing was foreign and I couldnt really understand them that well :P
I think they thought that they only pay for prints or a cd if they want the photos! well guess we will see if they drop me a email!

I'd have done it on a TFP basis just to bulk up my portfolio.

TFP?
Time for Print/CD.
I.E you do it free and you get to put the stuff in your portfolio and they get to put the stuff in their portfolio. Mutual back scratching and helps both parties to get further paid work hopefully.

but isnt that the point of the model release form to make sure or I guess some want the copyright
-
Joe, you've spent too much time in the sun.
Some lass phones up asking to take her clothes off and to get you to take some snaps and you turn her down. Should I be worried, do I need to call an ambulance?

But i couldnt really understand what she was saying and as ridg mentioned i dont even know what she looks like, not being funny but don't want any monster snaps
-
True. Ridg makes a massive point. Get that in first then make a judgement call :D

well my understanding is this, if a model asks you to do the shoot and pays you, she's paying for your time and the copyright; if you contact a model for a shoot and pay them, you retain the copyright.
It will come down to your release form, which is probable something you might want to look into
-
next time give em my number pleeeeeeaaaaassssssseeeeee   as far as i was was aware you are the photographer you own the copyright on the print ,bit more info and a bit of interesting info here http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=115929&highlight=model+release+copyright+laws

As an ex-colleague used to say regularly:
Good on the stone, add two stone.
You say she was rubbish on the phone, yeah?
Still, don't do owt for nowt, not if you're a professional.
Devalues your trade otherwise.
-
Simples just go there and watch them strip and if the guys all dodgy just do sh!te photo's.
Win all round.

it would have made more sense if your colleague had said 'good on the phone, add two stone'
btw - i agree very much with Nicks comments... don't cut off your nose to spite your face... if you are sitting about at home scratching your arse like you were when you too the call then you might as well be snapping if that is what you want to do
