Title: mk4 1.4se central locking problem

hi, i have a golf mk4 1.4se with a central locking problem, basically its dead! the doors will only open manually with no power to the locks at all!
i have checked the fuses and they are all in tact so any help would be great!

also forgot to add that the engine sounds tappety! is the only way to describe it, do the valves need grinding in or something else?

no mate nothing else! the tapping noise is engine for sure and the central locking is just dead!

yeah checked that and all seems fine! i was thinking of an engine flush to see if that helps?
