Sunroof in the tilt settings causes a rattle anyone had this and fixed it?
Its been fine for months.

Only rattles on bumps.

It does not do it when slid back or when the blinds back. Just when tilted.

I have searched and only solution as others seem to have suffered it links to a vortex faq site whos links currently don't work due to there new software and server.

Anyone know the fix?

Mine does too.  It hasn't always rattled - has only done it since last summer.  I mentioned it to the dealer when my car was last in for a service, took the technician out on a road test so he could hear it for himself and was told when I picked the car up it had been fixed.  It hadn't   I've not done anything about it since as it has been winter and I've not needed to use the sunroof so it hasn't bothered me, but now it's warmer I'm using it again, so it will be brought up again at the next service.

Another problem I have with it is when it is slid all the way back there it a rumbling - as if the wind deflector isn't working.  If you put your hand up out of the roof slightly it stops.  I also demonstrated this at the same time as the other problem and this wasn't fixed either

The rumble is not simply the wind buff'it'ing is it? Mine does this at certain speeds so i have to varie how far back it is or slightly drop a rear window to help reduce the presure thats coming in thats hitting the rear window and causeing the noise.

I think the rattle on tilt is what VW call the rain channel, but to me and looks like a wind deflector as mine lifts up when in tilt mode at the rear of the sunroof. (you can see it from the outside when the sunroofs tilted) i think this is moving to high and hitting the metal roof panal on bumps and making the rattle noise. But thats just a guess.

If you get it sorted let me know what it is, and I'll do the same

As an experiment I stuck some bits of foam tape between the curved edge of the roofs rear edges and this wind deflector/rain channel thing this morning on the way to work and i did not here the tick noise or rattle once when the roof was on maximum tilt. But i may have just been luckie as it was cooler today.
