Is there anyone near you that you can get your car scanned by?
A more experienced member will probably have an anwer or something you can check for tell tale signs.

ive got my own reader it comes up with no faults at all.
if you rev up its fine but if you release its shakes very noticeably back down to idle, instead of smoothly

Hi m8 ive got a 99 110 non pd as well, exactly the same problem, ive done some reading and its related to a ecu fault which can be fixed at vw but is silly money (new ecu) its a particular ecu model that had the fault which causes the judder (unfortiantly the 99 model i think) do some research on the AHF engine ecu and you should read somewhere about it.
I know exactly what you mean tho as i have exactly the same, ive just had to learn to put up with it. car still gets near 550-600 to a tank so from that point of view its working fine.
and on idle mine is noisy as well although when i had longlife oil in it did quieten down a little bit but not much.
Just to let u know ur not the only one lol

Im glad that you said that really as im pretty sure thats what its doing. Im starting to think that all my complaints in other post about engine noise etc are all related to this fueling problem. If it was over or under fuelling then it may cause the engine to work harder making it louder? Ive had a read on other sites about this sort of issue and it looks to be the cause.
I dunno, i give up!!

mine does this sometimes not a lot tho, just when it wants to be a d!ck. Ive got a 90bhp 1999 AGR
