it says their 17x8"
i no a stupid question but i havnt a clue

You can fit either.
What's the ratio on the sizes you're being offered?
This would be the /60 or /60 on the end of the 205 or 225.
-
would 205's look stretched?
-
Probably not, although it depends on the ratio width/height of sidewall
-
ok, these are the specifications of the wheel
Size: 17x8.0"
PCD/Offset: 5x100 ET32
what size tyres would you recomend? also would i need/would they look better with spacers if i fitted these to a mk4 golf 1.8t?

215/40/17 should be fine, or you can go with 205's...

i had 235/40/17 fitted to my leon and had no problem at all with rubbing issues it was also lowered 40mm, i went for the wider tyres as i had just had my wheels refurbed and didnt want to kerb them, the 235 tyres stick out slightly meanign the wheel is protected
