Hey guys
Just had suspension bushes replaced front & rear cos gonna fail next MOT. Standard suspension on 1.6 Driver.
The price - ?321.76 of which ?232 was labour (about 7 hours)
I dont know much about what it entails to do this job but Im beginning to think I've been ripped off and would like people's thoughts on this!
Going back to the garage tomorrow for some other work so gonna grill them and any feedback would be rather welcome!!
Cheers!!
Rhys

I had the whole of the back suspension changed on the old mk3 1.4 last january and 1 offside front top mount and a small rubber bung weld cost me ?420 cost depends on where you live and how much you can barter with them for the cost of the work then again they did have to drop the back end of the car out and the cost of the work was about ?300 so don't really think your costs are too bad myself sure ill be corrected if i am wrong.

if they did all the swingarms and stuff then yeah its quite a lot of work not complicated but it is time consuming tho. 7 hours seems a bit steep tho, go to another garage and ask them what the book time is for this work.

Live in good old Stoke-on-Trent!
Just dug out the invoice. here's what they did:
'Replace front suspension wishbone bushes
Replace rear axle beam mounting bushes'
The bushes came to:
?27.20 for the rear
?12.00 for the front
Rest is labour & VAT - god I HATE VAT!!!
Will have a word tomorrow tho cos not happy. Even less happy as Im not working at the mo
Never mind!!
Cheers guys!
