Reading PVW and theres a section on a Mk5 Golf owned by John Duda. Everything is completely black!!
Was wondering what other peoples views are on this.
Yes the spoil sports will point out parts that are illegal. I however think it looks
Heres pictures of his 07 Jetta/Vento

Not to sure really , think just to much black really!!
I like the mk3 in this months issue , apart form the vento front end!! :undecided:
-
dont like that at all
-
Front looks good, but the back
-
Not keen to be honest.
-
should be blacklisted
-
Front looks good, but the back
Agreed.
It's American, so he can get away with all sorts of crap.
It's his money. :undecided:
-
I kind of get where he took his car, not my taste I think its stance is too Amercian! If he hit the deck and showed no tyres and alloys where finished in gloss it might make the rear look more in flow with what he had thought. The US love sticking the rear end up and sticking larger wheels at the back whilst us Euros' prefer a more solid stance and decked lower than low? Also that back box needs to stick right out and up to give it some more lines.
Either way he should get credit for doing it... wrong, but cool wrong!

That jettas not all that great.
This however:

Are those some aftermarket alloys? If so, then fail...Some genuine VW or VAG would be much better.
And it's dumb to have a BLACK number plate.
Otherwise, nice - I like it :)
-
Looks like it should have a decepticon badge on somewhere!

That looks pretty cool, you're right the other one needs another colour, like red, to break itup a bit.
Good work on the a-team reference! haha

There was another mk5 GTI done in all black like that Jetta, but he broke up the gloss black with textured black and satin black  It looked mental. Don't have any pictures though, can't find them after the vwvortex move

I'm not too sure about OTT on black although saying that i want mine to look pretty dark and evil. for some reason i'm really loving the matte/satin black theme at the moment though... real stealth looking.. each time i find a car especially the ones done by fellow forum members, the more i love it... found another tasty mk5

Only thing is, murdering out is about having nothing other then black, but i see the points about breaking it up.

I know, i think that if that jetta had smoked lights and a normal number plate it would have made the difference from not being OTT. obviously i am not a murdered out fan and rather something towards borderline.

I'll have to dig out some pic's of my old mk2, was about 10yrs ago, that was proper black on black. Loved it.
That was before it was called "murdered out"
Just realised my pics will need to be scanned in
Matt black is pretty cool.

[/quote] Yeah i know, i know....  but the combo of matte and tinted windows gives it a real dark look... Prefer it over murdered out.

me too

To finish the look i'm after (Semi-Murdered), Satin black paint and mild tint to the windows with smoked front lights and the rears the same style as i left them from before, 50/50

unless your paint is dodgy i'd keep it gloss. matt/satin is cool but you do get fed up with it after a while and its a pain to maintain.
a lot of the more modern cars with satin/matt finishes are wrapped, which is just cheating

I hear you but sadly the paint is dodge.. the entire front end needs repainting and although the paint was really good on this car the 5 years locked up in a poor environment has taken its toll. I would love to keep it as it was but i have big dents to repair, deep scratches, damaged laquer and the whole front end to respray. I did a test spray the other day on the lower half of the O/S rear quarter including bodykit and i'm really happy with the look and results. i know its not the the best to maintain but its not going to be my daily so not too worried. Also i have found that when washing it all it needs is a quick dry. Water does appear to bead when rained on...... when i am totally happy with the car, its on the road and everything it needs has been purchased i will be saving for a full pro respray back to how it was but that is not my priorty.

modern cars and the wrap thing looks really good if done in small areas, like bonnet & roof! i like that personally.
