Title: Help!!!!!
Post by: Wisey on 18 May 2010, 19:27
Got another problem with my golf ....

Got this weird noise coming from the drivers side, well that's were it sounds like its coming from.... It sounds like a spitfire plane   . Happens at about 30mph you can hear it slightly when going straight, but if you turn right slightly. Not even a quarter turn of the steering wheel, you can hear it bad! But if you turn left then there is no noise at all
The noise is also worst between 45-60mph ish....

I thought it might be the wheel bearing, but the drivers side one fine and I have just replaced the passenger side one. Also just replaced the passenger side drive shaft. Check the drivers side one has a bit of play back and forth (from gearbox to the hub) but like 1-2mm and none at all side to side.

Its lowered about 80-90mm all round, with the arb chopped off.

Cheers for any help !

P.s Changed both the drive shafts with brand new ones.....
