Is it just me? im really not a fan of any particular BBS wheels, can anyone help me change my mind
-
There not great quality imo, never have been, they corrode far too easily, have done for decades.

just to look at, there boring and far too common place, volvos beemers dubs, just seen so many cars with them, :undecided:
-
 you smoking summat fella...a dub wouldnt be a dub without the BBS on them...not the old schoolies anyhow. But they are common and they do appear on lots of other cars...its the higher end ones that always stand out, but aint that always the case?
Not a fan of multispoke Audi wheels anymore to be honest...every mk4 is running reps and even the poorer audis are too...
Reps tend to buckle, chip, scuff and basically funk up far too quickly...BBS at least stand a bit longer even with hard driving.
-
I love my RXs, and if I ever have a MK4, I'll be sticking Anni wheels on them.
-
you must be radio rental... the 001's are the dogs !!!
-
Judging by the poll Chris, you seem to have an "EPIC FAIL" on your hands. LOL!
-
i personally luv them on old skool dubs, splits with a nice dish even though done to death always get me moist!
-

Look absolutely mint on an "Older" Dub ;)
-

go easy, its my 1st poll.... in on the Dogs On Acid forum, and there polls' run a standard cheese option
azev's,borbets, shmidts, mims ronals, even the teddys before BBS's lol
-
some look alright im not a big fan of them myself
been past the factory in gremany a couple of times
couldnt help but notice loads of wheels stacked up outside
ready for shipment
-
Extremely harsh with the DS quote, most offending!
Love BBS, they are winners!
-
Nah I get what you mean. Undoubtedly they are gorgeous, but the splits have become "the wheel to have" so pretty much 80% of the cars you see in mags are bbs splits, the posh cars at meets are running bbs splits and the top modifiers "ahem" use bbs splits.
Bring on the underdog wheels! but steelies are also horrible.

Are you a mentalist?

-
meh. chunky 80s wheels FTW. Borbets A's and the like.
BBS are too fiddly to clean! :lipsrsealed:

Is a twin turbo 2.7 v6 sensible?
-
yes.. it holds kids in the back better than my golf.. therefore to my gf it would be sensible

funny enough that's the way I sell it to my wife. Did you know a R32 MK5 is safer than a MK2 and the kids will be safer? As for fuel, well no diffrence really.
wait till she is back at work....................

it is If you drive a stripped out mk1 golf with a 270 bhp g60 swap and 100bhp nos, as a daily  f**k i dont even have a stereo in it , its just supercharger FM all day haha
so i think that audi has hmm stereo, sound deadening and it idles good. But i love my golf dont get me wrong

I love to hate them at shows all you see is mmm nice car shame he has BBS which every single one has them! I want to see people who actually use there heads in air flow and use design thought process in wheel choice, where people who sell on Egay BBS, put up stupid prices just to inflate there own stock and wheels?
I got slated for my OZ and do I give a f**k NO all BBS people have no imagination someone had to say it!
It's a shame becuase I know two inch lips would look good on mine 3dr, but hey I've made a stand this long and will stick to it unless I've borrowed a set at a show just to see if it works, and guess what it does! Essentially nothing wrong with BBS its the owners who get defensive when a thread like this comes up LOL's. I say different is good just becuase some owners have spent a better part of a grand on three inch lips and chromed bolts with stretched tyres they get so defensive when some DARES to Say BORING!
-
Mk2's and BBS just go together as much as i hate the scene BBS i bought a set because like it or not it works, looked at OZ turbos ronal turbo's borbets and lets be honest on a mk2 all of these wheels have been done to death along with porsche rims
i'm just going anti scene by leaving them std 6.5j RM's btw
-
Don't get me wrong stock ones are fine becuase they fit well and look the part!
-
i would love bbs splits on my mk2, but without any of the dish or stretched tyres you see all the time, just normal wheels. i have ra`s at the mo and have had on 2 of the 3 mk2s i have owned.
would consider some d90s or borbets but bbs are def a good looking wheel.
-
BBS splits RM's and RS's are the dogs! Cant be rocking replica audi wheels now can we
I love classic/collectable bbs split rims because they dont go down in price, look good, Can change to a custom dish.
They might be hard to clean but are big boys wheels that come at big prices.
-
oh how we laughed at the poll being changed

now who thinks that porsche needs some audi replicas instead?
-
On the right car they look the shiz.

Indeed BBS CH very
-
BBS RAs are standard on later Mk2s, so a winner for me.
Though you may have more success in your poll if you don't split the 'against' vote across four answers!

oiy.. Those Audi reps on my mk4 were on it when I bought it, oh noez
It was merely a joke poll, I was Reading someones post about him refurbing his bbs, and they just looked sooo boring, like pulled off a vovlo and resprayed silver
Anywayz if you gave me a set I wouldn't complain, my previous mk2 8v had it's original bbs and a spare in the boot, and I did like them a bit

Sick as fook car this one
the guy who owns this car bought these rims off a guy that had promised to sell them to MJ from MJ Interiors.. caused a bit of a stir haha
-
I've only got RX's I think but extremely strong light weight, as to fiddly to clean I agree but get round that by not cleaning them.
RS's etc are v.pretty but hugely over priced.
-
is it easy to get hold of the deep dish?? am i right in thinking schmidt do really good(EXPENSIVE) ones?
-
You can get the dishes from Justmatz in the UK, or various German ebay sellers.
The expensive ones you mention are probably the Radinox stainless steel dishes, very strong and don't corrode easily.
-
Once I have built my mk2 I will keeping the standard mk3 gti wheels on it, just to show what it is. I might buy some light weight wheels, that's because I'm more about performance than looks.
Although, deep dish bbs split rims are the f**king bollox!!!
-
On the right car they are amazing!!!!
On the wrong car they are awfull
-
over done tbh
yeah they look great on some cars but when you go to a dub show and 80% have some kind of BBS or replicas it gets boring.
