Title: any1 fitted a short shift on a mk2 golf gti 8v

hi, i brought a short shift of ebay, the person i got it of said he got it of jabba sport and sold his car before fitting it,i have try'd fitting it put when i fitted it the car won't go in gear

You prob' need a gear linkage alignment tool if you are not used to doing this. You maybe able to borrow one, or get one from ebay. If you are able to get the car up in the air, then linkage can be adjusted easily with two people, one in the car selecting gears, the other adjusting the linkage.
