hi i went outside yesterday and there was a patch of oil underneath the front of my golf i opened the bonnet and it was leaking from the inside of my air filter and i dont have a clue why just wondered weva some one could explain cheers

Blocked engine breather could be a possible cause.

As said, blocked breather, or engine just breathing very heavily?
-
is this a bad thing and will it ruin my engine cheers
-
no it's a good thing.......
I'd investigate as above - no breathing properly: bad, clogging your filter with oi: bad, ingesting oil through the throttle body into the head, bores: bad
-
Alternatively it could have come the other way, past the rings, and back through the inlet.
Over filled it recently or revved the tits off it?
