Isn't the Cruise Control on the mk6 supposed to be adaptive? I'm sure when I specced my car on the vw config tool it stated that. Well I don't think mine is working, as I wouldve assumed that if at 70mph on a dual carriageway with it switched on, and then the car in front gets closer and closer, that the "adaptive" bit would knock the speed off a bit. Doesn't it work via a laser or sensor from the front of the Golf?
Anyone with cruise able to clarify?
Cheers

Hi Spoon.
I have cruise and I don't think it is adaptive.
I will try it again today and report back on the adaptive bit.

Adaptive cruise controls have a visible radar dome mounted in the front grill, cost a fortune and are reserved for posh b@stards. Common or garden VW Golf drivers don't get options like that.
-
As above its not adaptive.

Its actually called ACC abroad but looks like its not available although was certainly touted by VW before the MKVI was released

Agreed most dissapointed that it didn't do it, did spot that someone posted a pic of vagcom and noticed there was a setting for it. I suppose once you have crashed into the back of the car infront, it might switch off and you will slow down.

Thanks everyone.
I think it was the below article that mentioned it when I was doing my pre-purchasing research:

Looking at another site, the ACC has a very impressive looking thingy in the MFD which I certainly dont recall seeing on mine.

I was so confused for a minute!
ACC is Adaptive Chassis Control in the UK and it is the must have option.
