Get it done properly, if it goes wrong, then your car is as good as a lemon to drive with.

Sure Ive read about the previous version working on a BM forum I used to frequent (IIRC this was on an OBD2 car too) but i wouldnt put your money where my mouth is on it :undecided:. However, the cables alone have got to be worth the price lol.
I do know that we use a similarly spurious code reader at work (BIG multinational exhaust system manufacturer) that was all of 50 odd quid from ebay and works on even pre-production Ford vehicles. Bloody clever those chinese!

I'm sure it will work, but bare in mind it will be a clone so probably not the most reliable. There is no recovery option with this particular tool either so should something go wrong and the flash fails before it completes (dropping battery voltage or unstable usb connection), or you accidentally put a mismatched file on the ecu you're going to be stranded with a car that won't start unless you pull the ecu apart and flash the file straight to the chip.
That being said, i've used a cloned galletto tool hundreds of times and it's never let me down.. it's even a bit quicker than my proper expensive gear! If you decide to give it a bash, i can walk you through the process... just don't go loading any ebay files onto your car, you normally get a CD with a couple of thousand flash files included with tools like that... and 99% of them are poo.

Cheers topher, and everyone else for their input.
Would the tool work with the A8 ABZ engine?
Also the seller also lists software only without a lead, would a VAG-com lead work with it?
