Everyone still enjoying their GTI's ?
I'll be a year in Sept/Oct and I still love the car, it has its own little noises that I'm familiar with that will be fixed soon, but all in all I love the car and it looks stunning when all washed and polished.

Oh Yes
8 months in and 7000 miles it is turning into a flying machine.
Engine note has changed, more responsive and more economical.
As a second family car it is ideal. Almost the perfect car for very occasion. School run, Business meetings, trips to dump, fun down the lanes and motorway blasts.
Almost,,,,,,,,,, because I need more power and more traction !

Same here year on September the 1st, just over 6000 miles now few minor rattles but can deal with them for the 2 miles journey to work. Great MPG at 38 considering the short journeys I do. Also cained it last night from Milton keynes to Cheltenham in 1 hour 20 minutes and 49mpg joy. Good bye that debadged skoda vrs who tried his luck fighting me off

Oh god yes
One year on 29th July and the best car I've ever had. It never fails to lift my spirits as soon as I get behind the wheel, this car just gives me a real buzz, and that exhaust note weeeelllll a real head turner
Can't wait til I get my LEDs my car will be just perfect then.
Gizzy

Yep, still loving mine, too. If only it were RWD, I reckon it would be the perfect car (for everyday/all-round use).
-
Makes me smile everyday.
I honestly thought this was my perfect car.
That was until it got Bluefinned. Now I know it is.

i'm the same, had mine since sep 09 - still loving it, especially after it was professionally polished yesterday so its gleaming like a mo fo

cause i know him he did it for 50 quid, but i think he would usually charge 100. and cause the garage f7cked up my supaguard (twice!) it was worth the money cause now it looks how it should have done when i first bought it (bar some stone chippage on the bonnet!)

Mine is now 6 weeks away from its first birthday (mid July) and it's about dead on a year since I ordered it.
Not a moment's bother with it, without question the best car I've ever owned and love every minute of driving it.
It also inspired me to buy the Mark 2.
The only downside is that, since I tend to change cars every 4 years, I've only got 3 years left with this one!!!

Got mine last June, 15000 miles in and it's an amazing car, does everything and does it well.....
-
got mine in september 09 and its just clocked the 19k mile marker. the thing is that the GTI grows on you more and more. whenever I'm in another car now I notice at least one or two things that the GTI does so much better.
quality (although every car has its problems)
nice and quiet
fast (since the map)
comfy
economical (btw guys recorded 71 mpg on the average trip counter. Pulled into motorway fuel station and reset the counter for the new tank. For the rest of my journey (45 mins) it stayed at 71.6 mpg - the missus had a look as she wouldn't believe me ) (although I think something must have been wrong with the counter)
practical
gentle when you need it to be
loaded with kit
I really am getting into the car now

fast (since the map)
Hehe, agreed. It should be like that when VW make it.

Much agreed. However then the Golf R would be (even more) pointless

Yeah, it's also rather vulgar, IMHO. GTI = gran turismo  R = Racing
