I got a new camera at the end of last year but havent had much chance to have a proper play with it. I gave it a go today, these shots havent been edited , all negative/positive feedback muchos appreciated!!

nice! :afro:

pretty good overall, I would experiment with more angles and play with aperture to control blur in different ways can be used with great effect.
Also maybe look into other styles of photography to expand your knowledge like 'movement' where car is clear but surroundings are blurred due to movement. Maybe light trails also where the light is like a trail. HDR etc
I would also play a bit more with shutter speeds to maybe make them a tad brighter but it's relative to what images your looking to take.
I like this one the most

It's not in my sig. Not at all.
No worries man, I saw an opportunity and I took it. Good pictures as well, you've got the right idea with the balancing between the car and backgrounds etc, just keep practicing and you'll get better and better.

f*cking legend. In the menu somewhere there's an option for colours, I find changing it to Vivid helps a bit :afro:

ta
Need to get my ps installed and get editing!

I like your shots where you'd used the aperture to blur the background. Bit pricey, but bag yourself a 50mm prime lens, make the foreground gorgeous and crisp on those kind of shots

I was using a 70/300 lens for those :undecided:

Did yo get that as well as the standard lens? They're good lens. I can't explain how the 50mm's work, but they just make everything all super sexy. Ask Joe, he understands them more than I do

could have cleaned your wheels
cars looking awesome  shame you cant drive it fast.....

Cracking pics

Nice shots and nice car. Good use of DOF and composition in a lot of those photos, I just wish the whole car was in frame in my favs!

I love these shots!
I find that cutting a car out or even as you have done with the wheels is a great way to get a more involved picture of a car.
Well done

Nice start.
With this one:

I would straighten it up as the car is leaning slightly, try to bring back some detail in the sky (if you use Adobe Bridge as well as photoshop, the Recovery option in Camera Raw editor is good for this).
I would, when shooting, have moved the camera a fraction higher and angled it down slightly, this would lose you some of the gap under the car and make it look lower to the ground.
As for a 50mm lens, I love mine (£130 for the Sony 50mm f1.8), completely worth it. The main thing with the 50mm is that it can go to a wider aperture (the f-stop, eg f1.8) which means a) you can go to faster shutter speeds in lower light conditions, but b) it gives you a narrower depth of field (see Horney's guide here (http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=114168.0)) meaning that only your car (or whatever you've focused on) is in focus. IE, it makes the background blurry and the car sharp.

^^^ Cheers for all the advice
So much to learn, really isnt just a case of letting the camera do it for you for the results I want
Id say Im really pleased with 2 I have taken, the others not so much, but very new and plan to practice practice
