Title: Glossy plastic trim...
Post by: Jimble on 08 May 2010, 12:39
As soon as the weather pics up for a while i'm gonna give my car a good going over as i've got all the stuff i need now (i think), I'm wondering how to treat the glossy plastic trim pieces on the 'B' pillar and around the grill badge? ie after washing can i polish (AG SRP) then seal (CG Jetseal 109) and finally wax (Dodo SN/PH) as i would the paint?
Thanks

Black Wow does a cracking job and I'm currently using a Britemax product but I do keep returning to Autoglym (they do a bumper care and a rubber/vinyl dressing called super sheen) which work really well and I'll probably go back to.

Not sure that'll be any good mate tbh, the trim itself is already glossy/shiny, it's just that i've noticed on other mk6's that this trim gets swirl marks the same as paint and wondered if it can be treated the same.
Thanks for the reply though.

jimble! yep you can polish/ seal / wax these bits but check they are not pitted/porouse or the polish and wax will show up on them.
