Title: Spot lights in a Mk3 grill
Post by: Mr.Tom on 05 May 2010, 18:55
What is peoples general opinion of the Mk3 grills with the two square spots in? I rather like them myself, but they turn up rather rarely. More lights the better I say ;)
I can't afford a set right now anyways, but what have people seen them go for? I have only ever seen one set on ebay, and that had a cracked lens. I missed the final price on it.
Cheers.

well i have that grill and i love it and all my mates do aswel, but everyone like diffrent things. just makes the car look diffrent, i think the prev owner put it on as theres a few stone chips and the old colour is showing through (red) but here goes nothing.

I think it looks nice and it's rare as well, so kind of adds value. Although, as far as I know, it's not easy to get the lights connected.

Saw one on eBay to go for around 50 quid few months ago.

I think a few of the CLs had them. Mine came with them (got the grill but not the lights), Joes did, some other bloke on the forum did with a 1.4CL and a few on Autotrader all 1.6 and 1.4s had them I've seen.

Rare as hell. There's a version with round spotlights too. Also rare as hell. Looks ok imo.

 they connect to your main BEAM lights (when you flash someone) thats only time they work. they take H1 bulbs and i think you have to take the rad off to change the bulbs unless im wrong  :undecided:

I meant you have to take the grill off to change the bulb.

You can't remove the radiator without removing the grill first anyway. To replace the radiator the grill/bumper/bumper support bar all need to come off
