Title: lower bumper air intakes
Post by: Sugar79 on 02 December 2004, 13:30
i bought them off awesome-gti.co.uk, prob is, only one fits, the other wont go in because the tow bar bracket is behind it, when i told awesome they said that they fit on all the other golfs, anyone else got them and had any probs?

ive always wondered about these my self??, does the tow bracket come off (ie bolted on etc), ive never looked closely at mine only when i hooked a tow rope on it when it blew up!!!, ill have a look later when mrs gets home from work in it, i think on the turbo models the intercooler is behind the orig vents, so there maynot be tow hook there?? but on mine there is.... you out there toph?? what you got on yours?

Gaz

There's no towing eye on the turbos, just a threaded hole that you screw a loop bolt into which is stored with the jack/spare wheel.

Silly question, and dont be offended  .. but they haven't sent you two passenger side vents by mistake have they ? Otherwise how does the standard vent grille thingy fit on ?

no thy havent sent to sides the same, i havent got the orginal vent on that side as it flew off down the motorway when i first got the car, which makes me think if it been in a front end, because the orginal wasnt fitted in properly if it fell out and i cant fit a different vent in, sound dodgy to me
