Looking to get my first gti soon as ive been wanting (and saving) for years and dont want it to be a skip! found this on the usual pistonheads http://pistonheads.com/sales/1661959.htm and wondering wether it seem legit and not too cheap. comments would be welcome. Thanks.

It does seem a little on the cheap side, but its not crazy cheap if you know what I mean.  Could just be a motivated seller ... do the usual HPI checks and stay on your toes.  Proceed with a little caution I'd say

O.k thanks alot. I know what you mean about the price thats kind of why i posted it for opinion. I haven't rang up yet tho thinking might make the most of the bank holiday to have a look. so if i go i'll let u know how i get on.

Price and car look reasonable to me. What would put me off is that it looks like it's the bog standard model with no nice extras. I'd look out for one with a few choice options which shouldn't cost much more.

I'd not buy a car without the centre armrest and highline computer, and I'd look for things like Xenons and cruise control. IMO these things turn the car from a Hot Hatch to a Luxury car.

Full Service history, a quick HPI and you can be happy with that. :afro:

Same as the other members posts! make sure and HPI the car before hand, seems a very reasonable price for the milage!

I bought mine this time last year, 56 plate, 32k leather armrest cruise etc £13750.

Look like a good buy . Black is a nightmare to keep clean (I have one, constantly washing it) looks well when its washed and polished. Enjoy.
Duffer.

The price isn't so low as to ring warning bells.
Its fair tbh.

I'm not keen, bog standard advert, no details about the car. When I bought mine 12 months ago, I wanted to know EVERYTHING about the car without having to e mail them. In the end I got a silver 5 door, 50 000 miles, 2 owners, heated seats, winter pack, and paid £9700. I would keep looking, go to mk5gti.co.uk and look at some there. Or edition 38 have some for really good prices. Will make that one look poor by comparison.
