Title: Anyone seen or got these Duostyling gauges?
Post by: Deefadog on 30 November 2004, 21:22
Duostyling gauges - http://www.vwvortex.com/artman/publish/article_1029.shtml

Will cost about ?25 each delivered from Canada

Considering this so i can keep an eye on my voltage and air/fuel mix, worth getting or what?

The only problem i have with these is that they look brilliant and very professional items, but the company is not, no proper order system, only through pay pal.  Just wondered if they look great but are not very accurate!

I may just get a cheap ?4 multi meter and attach crocodile clips to it and run it through the bulk head, for the time being just to monitor the voltage :)

I would definatly wait until they get a proper order system.  too much of a chance of being scammed and they are not cheap either.

Cheers

Lol...yeah but only the LCD one is wired up?
When the Oil pressure duostyling one is released I will sell the VDO's.

Define 'worth it'. It works and fills in an unused switch blank. From my point of view yes it is worth it as I plan to install a touch creeen where the VDO's are but wanted to retain oil/voltage indicators.
It acutal use it's ok, can get a bit irritating at night cos it's quite bright and can flicker a little. But overall I'm happy with it. I have a couple of badly taken pics showing it lit up if you wanna see. Nothing to exciting I'm afraid.

Weird? in what way?

Gauge005 - shows normal position when engine is off.
Gauge006 - Engine on (about 3k revs), battery charging, nothing powered up
Gauge007 - What happens when I use the power windows, massive drop in voltage
