Does this really work Dan? The only time I have heard of this is at paintball to stop the masks steaming up.

I would have thought IPA would sort it out but I'm interested to hear if the fairy liquid works

Water repellant, wouldn't that be something like Rain-X?

Have used that before and if you put about 3 good coats on you may not even have to use your wipers, deffo not on the motorway.

Or is it just to get the oily resdue off, in which case i've used Autoglym glass cutter before followed by glass polish. My windows looked completely transparent after that but then lost interest in detailing.

it will get rid of any grease or whatever it is thats making his screen smear, and as mentioned ipa would work also. plus the washer bottle may need cleaning out.

As above I think I'd wash, clean and polish the glass with a detergent & a glass polish.

Then seal it (as per your thread title) with a rain repellant like Rain X or another glass sealant.

Rain x is crap

the very best was Rain wizzard in the pink dildo container, but rain x bought the company and shut it down to try take over the market

i managed to find a guy on ebay who has a few old stock left that he bought in bulk, i got 2 bottles 3 years ago im still on the first bottle (over half left in i too) and the stuff is amazing!! lasts ages too

I'm currently testing Nanolex glass sealants on my vehicle and really please with how they are performing so far.  They do an urban sealant which is designed to be better suited for city driving and I can really see the difference (done a half and half on front screen).

They also don't make the wiper blades squeek (like I found RainX used to).

Cheers - Jason
