Just lately been noticing the Fuel tank when full ,makes a noise when driving at slow speeds! Can be irrtating at times. Anybody else hear this?
Never an issue on the Mk5!
-
Guess not, just you then Steve

Is it down to not being insulated properly?
-
Better get that looked at before it falls off...

fuel sloshing about in the tank!
-
Its more than likely due to the fact that the rest of the mk6 is so quiet in comparison to the mk5 so you wouldn't of heard it.
-
Can you hear it on your GTD?
-
My mk5 did it. I am pretty sure you will hear it with most cars mind. Thats what happens when 55 litres of liquid move when going round corners and the radio is turned off.

Cant afford enough fuel to slosh about
Never really heard it apart from going over speed bumps after filling up at local tesco
-
 just easy to keep the tank Full for me , never let it run down that far TBH!!
-
Just turn the radio up, foot down and enjoy

Dynaudio is brilliant for that! Sometimes I like to drive in silence & hear that engine note

I agree the noise the GTD makes is brill, but I think its just a noise generator rather than the engine note.

You need your window down and a Milltek for that  and preferbly in a tunnel

Get out of here Neil  the engine note on the GTD sounds much better than the GTI!!

At this fricken price for fuel, I've never got a full tank anyway
-
I can here this on my GTD, had no idea what it was at first then realised it was the fuel. Bit annoying tbh
-
I always fill my tank completely but haven't heard that noise.
-
^^^ Same here.

Yes agree with you, wonder if its just the GTD coz the diesel is heavy
-
I actually only notice it when I've filled the car full, after a few miles it seems to disappear...

Yup, diesel is louder - even when it's still in the tank.
-
Its probably a breather pipe or filler pipe with fuel in as you filled it to the brim. Im due to fill mine in the next day or so so i will listen out for this noise.
-
I get this. Is it a whistling noise, like a noisy pump? I'm taking mine in to the dealer tomorrow.
Did you fix it?
