Title: Bit of Vagcom help needed.

My ebay vagcom cable has been found by the 409.1 software issue of VCDS, no problems there. However when i then try and run a scan of the controllers or autoscan etc nothing responds and I get the message "controller not responding".

Do I need to adjust the Protocol Options to get the program to talk to my car? or is there something else i can try.

Having read many other threads i thought the hardest bit would be getting the cable to register!! I'm using windows XP if that helps.

Please help, my car needs it!!

In VCDS/VAGCOM options menu change the BAUD rate from 9600 to 4800.
