Can anyone tell me where this should plug into please???

Well you don't say what year or type your car is? Mine is a 91 8v and the only green and red wire I can find goes to the windscreen washer motor but it has a twin plug with another wire. The only wire with a plug like that that I can find is red and black on mine and goes on to a spade on the end of the starter motor.  :undecided:

Sorry, it is a 16v 1991 h plate, I did the starter motor after xmas but still can't see anything missing off there. :angry:

any one of the 3 small single pin black sensors on the side of the head, that wire is for the isv control unit

not to hand, but look on the side of the head for a big plastic flange with a rubber coolant hose on it. around this are 3 small single pin sensors, and a large 2 pin connector.  one of the single pin sensors will be missing a wire.

hopefully the terminal end hasnt snapped off and you can just plug it back in
