Do all mk3 golf GTi's 8v come with abs ?
-
i dont think so. pretty sure all 16vs and '6s did though.
the easy check is for an ABS light next to the Airbag one to the rightof the steering wheel.
it should behave like the airbag one. by that i mean it should come on when you start the car and go out shortly after.

Ok cheers i will have a look

Nah that is totally not the best way to check .
Owners with ABS faults have in the past removed the bulb so that no fault is seen .
There are two ways to check easily .
Lift up your back seat , there should be two black 2 core wires (one from each side) , that come up from underneath through gromits about 1 inch wide. These meet either side of the centre with two connectors. These are the rear sensor cables .
Open your bonnet , you should see a rectangular metal box just right of centre at the rear of the engine bay . a number of brake pipes shoul com straight out of the front . [This is the ABS pump] .

so why is it the wrong way to check?
if it doesnt come on there is a problem.
-
Because , i guess if i have misread your message and you mean check if there is a bulb .
You will not know if the car has ABS or if the indicator is in fact fitted regardless of ABS or not .

Easiest way is to slam yer brakes on at above 40mph and see if ya skid or not!
