Having issues with the mid section always disconnecting from the downpipe (the join that is usually under the heat shield for the gear selector cup)
I've replaced all the rubbers, changed all the clamps with new ones and also checked the engine mounts no movement from this.
Any ideas from people on what it could be that keeps on ripping the join apart?
Cheers people :)

what make is the exhaust system, front to back?
the abf is a tall block so the exhaust will sit higher at the downpipe than std, so this could put more stress on your front joint. how loosely do the 2 parts fit together, perhaps the clamps arnt able to clamp it down enough

Will go buy some clamps :)
The ABF its self is using a Mk3 down pipe to a scorpion system :)

Flexi join maybe a solution?

the oem downpipe has one already so you shouldnt need it, I have a jetex on mine with abf downpipe + cat bypass, not had any issues so far. cetainly wouldnt hurt to fit another one though :)
maybe the hangers you have just cant cope with the extra weight, VW sell rubbers with chains in, I have one on the front-most hanger. I pinched it off a random audi in the scrappy, but the part number if you need it is:
893 253 147 D - zaust rubber with chain - £ 5.09

Okay it is a 4 branch I have. I took it on a guess till I went out to the car.

Could I put a slip-on flexi join here?
Sorry for my absolute poor paint diagram.
Just to add I'm also using a Mk3 subframe so I don't know if this urban-myth of the engine sits 10mm lower is true or not :)

Exactly what I did, worked wonders!
