Ive just got some 16" mk4 anniversary style bbs wheels and want to know what the maximun size spacers i can use with 205/45/16 tyres and lowered 60/40mm? was thinking 15mm?
-
35mm
-
I would go no wider than 10mm.
-
Got a 35 on mine with 16s
-
all depends on the offset.
mk4 wheels, will be the same as my A3 16" wheels with an ET of 42.. Big spacers will be fine.
BUT.... I'm going for 5mm rear... and 3mm front. just to make them look bit better...
and they sit further in on the mk3.
-
so either 10mm or 15mm all round?
-
40mm
-
20mm back 10mm front
-
20mm back and 10mm front? with 205 45 16 lowered 60/40mm want that scrub?
-
rear will need some arch work. Got a small hammer?
-

Yep lots

Your wheels are 6.5x16" and you'll be lowering it 60/40.. and you're worried about scrubbing
I have 20mm spacers on the front, 35mm on the rear, 7x16 rims, lowered twice as much (120/100)

I know, I think you should ditch the 205's because they're WAY too wide for 6.5's

Will be in primer and not really sure yet, going to wait until it's finished (has a few scuffs that need sorting)

-
The wheels I put on are 6.5"s which came with 205's. I had to go down to 195's because they were rubbing on the shocks. Look much better on the 195's too
-
standard gti's where 205, but then later ones came out with 195 tyres
myself and most people use toyo T1R's 195/50/15

Wrong way round...
Early GTIs were 195s, later 205s.
Annis 216/40/16...
and a 205 wide tyre is perfect for a 6.5" rim.

I didn't even know that size existed, or is that a typo and supposed to be 215?
