You are aware that the sunroof bolts to the roof itself? And non-sunroof cars don't have the bolt holes?

If your current aftermarket sunroof is what I think it is and was fitted after the car was made then it sounds like one of those "cut a hole, plonk sunroof in, done" jobs

As above you would need to change the complete roof if it is an aftermarket sunroof.

Anything is possible if you put your mind to it........

but is it worth it really??

When you can just open the window??, the sunroof doesnt do that much anyway.

I don't know how you can say the sunroof doesn't do anything, lets just all remember that heat rises...

well it would be worth it as i have a non working sunroof and thats just daft lol
i found a replacement motor and it £135

i can get the original sunroof for £30ish complete with everything
unless of course you guys know how to repair plastic cogs or know a man that will make them in copper for next to nothing

The easiest way of doing it would be to sell your car and buy a car with a proper sunroof

I would never buy a car with an aftermarket sunroof, you just know that it's going to leak and if it goes wrong then you're going to struggle to find replacement parts

Yes correct, heat does rise. If you open the window the heat will escape aswell. I'm not a sweaty get tho haha... I do have a sun roof aswell standard on my gti.

Ah mate.. if you do find anywhere that sells them, could you ask them if they do left handed screwdrivers? I've been after one for ages

Would that be at the same store that supplies those fantastic chocolate fireguards and inflatable dart boards?

Ask them if they do the large tins of tartan paint, and cans of compressed air too.
