I have a 1.4 se mk3, (i know it will not change the SPEED!!) i just want a little noise on it, please and advice??
-
drill a few holes in your exhaust. that'll make it loud lol
-
Panel filter.
-
Serious i always hear of this, but never known anyone to do it, no other advice? im a girl and the lads ik now in cars just take the piss! coz there in a saxo or a sh!ty corsa
will this give it a bit of noise then? wil it replace the air filter? coz mine is a oval one for some reason my other golf was a sqaure?
-
so you want a noisy slow car? Why don't you keep the mk3 nice, clean and original so when you've saved enough money you can px the mk3 and, with the cash, buy something nicer.
-
well yeah i dont go anywhere to speed in it, untill my insurnce go down there is not much i can do, there is prob about 4 places where i live where you can speed an i hardly go there. so if you have any ideas let me know but if not i dont want to know that a 1.4 is sh!t, coz i know that but its a start isnt it!
-
Heeey!
I had a 1.4 SE for my first car, they're pretty cool cars from factory so don't need much work to make them look good!
If you're looking for a bit of a 'roar' when you accelerate then an induction kit is the way to go.. or if it's a constant noise you're after, I'd suggest replacing the exhaust, whether it be backbox or full system :)
I had a Sportex backbox on mine which I purchased from a scrapyard for £15 and it sounded really really nice! Not like a chavvy jap can on a 1.1 Saxo!
Here's a pic of my old 1.4 SE

I kinda miss it, but then I look at my current car and think "that's better!"
-
stainless exhaust and air filter is your best bet. If you've got no money drill the airbox.
-
Don't follow sheep and chavvy fy your car ... Save up and in a few years you'll be grinning in a faster motor - trust me!
-
yeah 100 percent drill the box for a nice growl
-
drill box (but read up on it)
and a Cat back Powerflow exhaust system with only 1 back box (i.e. removes the box before the back box) (mines gorgeous, it pops n all sorts haha)
I love it... but the neighbours do not haha
-
i know that what im gona do just save up a little for when my insurnce is cheap as i will have a hot ride like my mums beamah.. lol.
but thanks. i need to sort it this weeknd. whats a resonable price for a back box echanust??
-
Put a VR6 engine in there.
-
you can look on this forum...
People sell them cheap (used ones in good condition)
other than that...
£100 minimum for a good backbox.
-
i would if i got away with it get in sh!t if my mum found out insurnce is in her name at the mo.
any other ideas wat i could do?

Fronting then?
-
what do you mean? ha sorry new to this
-
Means, like every other stupid pikey racing around in their bare wikkid low powered cars racing around the streets you can't afford your insurance.
So, instead you get mummy to insure it so it's cheaper, then when you crash into one of us who pays for our insurance, your insurance screws you over and we get sweet f**k all from them.
CHEERS!
-
oh right gobby, forgot that you cant start out at the bottom. im fully comp on my mums. and if i wanted a fast car i wud have one but would rather start at the bottom so im not board when im older! im not a pikey either ive worked hard to pass and buy a car so go an do one, dont comment unless you know wat ur on about

You don't know all the details so why assume the worst?

+1 harsh to be honest.

Well:
"I'm on my mums policy" kinda screams "I'M FRONTING IT"
I apologize if I'm wrong, I'm in a bad mood.
But answer this, is it your car?
Oh, I didn't call you a pikey, I meant "like all the pikeys" not every other.

My dad insured his VR6 and his Bora on an Admiral multi car policy, THEY asked my dad if there were any other cars in the household, so he told them that I had a car, then THEY asked if he wanted to add my car onto the multi car policy which gives an even bigger percentage off the final cost.
He told them how much I was paying though and they said they couldn't beat it, so I continued insuring my car on my own policy.
-
Fair enough as I said I apologize if wrong, bad mood and all that, still waiting on an answer....
-
Me thinks you've probably scared her off
-
answer for what?
Thats what im on we have 4 cars at out house an there all on my mums polict group coz it works out cheaper and affrodable as im in college with a part time job!! how old are you?
at the end of the day i know 2 in 10 people that go on there own an it is usualy people who have worked from 16 or who have people pay it for them. Just think of people who want a car and cant afford both when going on a parents for a year helps out a little
-
and yes i paid for the car other than £150 which my mum paid. she has drove it a few times but dont drive manuals anymore as she has always had auto bmws which if i had wud never drive a manual again
-
So the car is insured by your mum on a completely separate policy?
-
why are you so intrested? dont really matter im legal fully comp an stil have money for fuel an things i want. that wil do me!
-
That's where many people get confused.
If you are driving about on your mums insurance on your car and have an accident and they work it out (and they do) they won't pay out, because you are "fronting" the insurance.
Heads up.
