Title: vr6 advice needed

hi guys, ive got to change the rocker cover gasket on a P - reg vr6,
is it a big job or quite straight forward?

any advice or hinters would be greatfully apprecited

Easy peasy mate! Its pretty self explanatory when you get under the bonnet. Just undo all of the bolts around the rocker cover and move or unplug anything else thats in the way. I believe you have to replace the bolts to the correct torque settings though.

Inlet manifold gasket will be needed as you need to remove it.

I think its similar to doing the 16v, been along time since i've done one.
Allow a couple of hours. Once the upper inlet manifold is off, its pretty straight foward.

anyone know what torque settings the rocker bolts should be set too or is it ok to titghten roughly by hand

one last thing, do i fit the gasket dry or use a little engine oil to help seal it or use sealant?

Fit the gasket dry, just nip the bolts up.

its a low miledge car 53k i think.

should be up for sale soon
