hi guys is it hard to change a bonnet cable on a mk 2 golf

nope! take the grille off, unhook it from the bonnet release end then unscrew the handle from the car and cable pops out. Take the plastic tray above the ecu out and you can see where the cable pokes out.  may have to take the dash undertray out to get the cable gromet in/out properly, or you may be able to do it from above no bother.
