Post by: forzahibs on 22 April 2010, 16:27
Hoping to sell privately in the next month or so; 07 Black metallic, 5 door, 18 inch alloys, cloth, rear parking sensors, 28,000 miles, excellent condition, what price might I expect to achieve. Thanks for help.

Highline computer? Multifunction steering wheel? Satnav? Xeon lights?

If you've got none of that then id say list at £14250 which will get you offers around the £13500ish mark.

Would be curious to know if thats what you had in mind prior.

Thanks for the info, the only extras I have are as previously listed. To be honest, I had no real idea other than the prices which you see on Autotrader and these vary so much, I was basing finance etc on achieving £13K; I would be happy to achieve £13,500. My Mark 6 has arrived at the Dealers so I now need to get this moving. Thanks for your help!

Very slow out there. I put it on at £13750 to allow some negotating room to achieve around £13500. Been on Autotrader since Tuesday, Pistonheads since Friday; not a sniff! Any idea what Vw would give as a straight sell, no trade in. Thanks

It does seem to me that the value of used mk5 gti's has come down rather a lot in the last couple of months compared to what they were going for 6 months ago.

I know the mk6 gti's initially had some serious production number problems so that being resolved could've caused the dip.

Where abouts are you based?

I am toying with the idea of buying a sensible car after loving an S2000 for a few years. Am ideally looking for a 3dr, but the colour is right!

Has anyone thought of trying that text service, my text check to find out what price they say its worth?

You text them the reg and they send you the details.

Text 83444 for a valuation, costs £1.50 plus standard rate, and 83600 for a vehicle history check costs £3 plus standard rate.

Paying for it sucks but it could give you a good idea?

DSG? or the other sort.

Most normal people want the DSG these days, the other sort  for pensioners and tenants.
