Title: Please help... alarm problems
Post by: richard ellison on 26 November 2004, 12:08
got a clifford concept 50 on the cab, havign major problems at the mo.

as its parked at uni currently in the hall car park, when pi$$ heads come through at early hours the alarm can be set of  if they mess around.... also seems to happen if a big delivery truck passes next to it due to the vibrations...

everytime it goes off as i cant hear it to turn it off, it just continuously goes off again and again until the battery dies. This means the battary wont hold its charge if jumped or recharged.

Has anyone else seen or expeirenced this problem?
Any advice?

After buying a new guaranteed battery the other week, im gonna have to take it back and exchange it already.  >:(

i know it has wheel sensors (stopping my chrome from dissapearing), a bonnet sensor, motion sensor inside.

not sure what else.

the one for the wheels will probably the tilt sensor to know if it is being jacked

the motion one - if you have the dual zone proximity sensor - will be your problem. it will get triggered if someone stands close to the car. you need to set the range really low so that people just innocently walking past don't trigger it. the dealer can change the range easily.

it could be the shock sensor aswell! may be abit of both if lorries are a distance away from it!

arm and walk near it passed the side windows ...

if it trips off then its too sensitive! it should only go off if someones inside the car ie just inside the windows!

if you have the duel proximity then it should only beep warning! obviously if you keep making it beep after a few beep warnings it goes off! but this is only if you have the repeat warnings trigger full alarm turned on!

some sensors are digitel and can only be adjusted through the ''cliffnet'' by plugging in a laptop!

shurely the alarm re-sets itsself after 30 seconds unless it gets set off again by another attack rather than running till it is flat.

No it doesnt seem to. It keeps going every half an hour or so until the battery runs down.

Maybe this is a fault?

had the sensitivity turned down and alarm set correctly. Supposidly when the battery runs down it resets itself....

cost 35 quid....

but the battery is still draining itself over time! If i dont use the car every day or two it just gets less and less power when turning over...
alternator was replaced about 6 months ago.

Anyone? I really am at the end of my tether....
