Title: Lambda Probe Error Code P0130

Hi 1st post and it is a problem with my 53 plate mkiv 1.8T Golf GTi.  The car is running pretty lumpy and isn't idling very well.  The engine management light is on and the error code is P01030.  I know this code very well, as it means I have a faulty lambda probe sensor, because I had the problem in December.  I had both my lambda sensors replaced and also the breather hoses replaced as well.  However, even after this work the engine management light came back on.

Now the car is not running very well and the garage is saying it is due to the error code.  However with having the sensors and hoses replaced, they're not sure what the issue is.

Has anyone else had this problem??

Did you use genuine sensors or cheap copies?

Will check the receipts tonight for the sensors, but I'm sure they would have been the OEM part.  The garage didn't mention anything was wrong with the cat, but any tips for what to look for?

If it was an aftermarket sensor then it would be no surprise at all for it to fail so soon. On the other hand if the loom for the o2 sensor wasn't clipped back into place securely when it was replaced it may have suffered heat stress from the exhaust, or it may have got damaged by debris on the road.

Just checked the part numbers on the receipt - 0258007351CA and 0258006161CA, it doesn't mention whether these are VW lambda sensors or whether they are after market ones.  They were only fitted in January along with all four ignition coils.

Will check tomorrow to see if the loom has been clipped securely.

i read a post on here with same problems and it was throttle body needed cleaning and water temp senser had gone...may be worth checking same..
