Title: Rust on the door sill
Post by: jonnypolish on 20 April 2010, 17:48
Wasn't sure where to post this, But im guessing the "Cosmetic Matters" would have been better than the Mk3 specific section :)

Was just about to give the car a good ol' wash and found some sneaky bugger rust lurking on the door sill, Tis kind of a pain that it is not a cheap removable part but part of the car frame!

The pics are as follows, all the same bit of rust! And the only bit!

Third pic is awful but so is my camera

Just really wanted some feedback on how to attack this situation!
If its an easyish job i'll give it a go, but if i need the professionals in then could anyone on here give some rough prices on how much i'm looking at :)

Many thanks in advance,
Jon

Very common on mk3's mate. All of mine have had it! Ive just took the rubber door seal off, sanded the crap out of it, treated and painted.

I had the same, clean it all up, treat and repaint as required.

Ahh thank you very much guys!
I had heard that it was common! But for a 16 year old car tis not bad!

I will get onto it later this afternoon!
