Title: fitting door speakers
Post by: ash159 on 19 April 2010, 20:04
A few questions. ive got a 1999 mk4 5 door and replacing all 4 door speakers, do these adapters have the plug at the top the same as the oem ones do?

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/vw-seat-speaker-adaptors.html

so i can use with these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400112457818
(Item number: 400112457818 )

and with the rivits on the oem rings do you just drill through them and then it comes away?

have the door card off atm so any replys within the next hour or so welcome lol

they don't have the plug on the top but a recess for the speaker cable to pass through they should also come with the speaker cable adapter plug so no chopping of wires
as for the rivets yes just drill them out and then screw the new ones on through the original holes but using a screw clasp  behind the metal work9these should also come with the speaker adapters

you will need to either fit new rivets or screws through the existing holes with a metal clasp behind them to hold them in place

NOOO!!! It's a 2 hour job max! Hour each side

As long as you buy the speaker adaptors you'll get everything you need to fit your new speakers

I was giving a time based on someone who has never removed the doorcards etc   Inevitably there's going to be some shouting and swearing at some point

I have a set of Speaker adaptors for the front door cards sat here, enables you to use bigger speakers and includes the spacer rings. Bought them for my old Golf but never used them.

If you want some drop me a PM.
