Title: 3 door - memory seats?
Post by: p3eps on 18 April 2010, 18:57
I'm sure this has been covered at some stage, but I'm struggling to find it if it has...

I have a 3 door car - and it appears neither of my seats have a memory
What I mean is that when I slide them forward to let someone in the back, they don't remember where they were.
I've tried a few times today, and each time they end up fully forward.

Is there a trick to this? - my ED30 was slide it back before tilting the seatback upright.

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I did not pay too much attention to it as I have a 5 door. There were some unusual posts on it. If you wade through the threads you are sure to find it.

On another note, where have you placed the microphone?

Where am I looking?!?

I remember the thread a while ago, but didn't pay any attention as I didn't have a car then!

On another note, where have you placed the microphone?

Today I moved it to the top of the A-Pillar.  I've just been for a wee drive, and my fiancee said it was almost perfect.  I phoned her when I was drving along a 20mph street and she didn't realise I was drving.  Once I got up to 50+ she could hear the engine, but she said it was as clear as it would be if I had the phone to my ear.
I have some pics, along with the rest of my How To... but I'm on my laptop just now and can't be bothered.  I'll post them tomorrow.

yea, the seats on my 3dr mk6 work the same way as they did in my mk 5...slide back before releasing the handle and straightening the back...unless the R is different

Same seats - different headrests!!
I would imagine they're meant to work the same.

Sorry mate never read the thread properly.
I thought you were talking about your chipped bumper or you misaligned bonnet. That will teach me to read things right

You naughty 'member'. But I like you anyway!

BTW: Bonnet very well aligned, rear black diffuser to be replaced, chip on painted part of rear bumper to be fixed possibly today, dents on offside wing removed perfectly. So nearly there.

Coming together nicely.
Here's hoping it stays well for a while.

My daughter got her very first car in January there and I took it along to a detailing tuition day which is basically learning how to use a polishing machine to take out all the swirls etc and make the paintwork like glass so it reflects properly.
The car / thread is here if you are interested.

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=159081 (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=159081)

Anyway my point is, she is like me and is extremely careful / paranoid about where she parks the car, like parking at the end space well away from the car next to it or parking miles away from any other car. But over the last few weeks unexplained marks keep appearing on it. Paint chipped off rear wing, white paint on corner of the bumper etc.

It is infuriating when something happens that is obviously the fault of someone else.

Excellent post. Thanks.
Driving me mad. Cannot understand how these things happen, especially when I take so much care where and how I park. Given me a couple of sleepless nights.
Still really upset about it.
