Just wondeing if anyone knows how to get rid of or deaden down the noise of the outside wind on the doors? on the motorway it tends to get a little annoying, new cars don't have this, just wondered if anyone has managed to solve this?
Cheers

Doubt there's much you can do other than check that the door seals are OK - my old SAAB is the same. Aerodynamics are not the strongpoint of a 20 - 25 yr old design whereas it has become a priority for modern cars.

im with doopydug, ive had 3 mrk2's n they havent dont that,
-
I'll check the seals, they seem ok! It's not as bad as i may be making out, just want total silence if possible (i am a fussy git) lol :)

has the door droped abit? so its not lining up pukka ???
-
Yeah it has dropped a bit, that's on my list to do's - i am sure i have seen lots of threads on it here using a washer or something!
-
Mines doing the same, i keep checking the windows are shut >:(
Iv put mine down to the pervious owner taken the door cards off and splitting the plastic sheeting over the door and the wind comming in through there, could be wrong tho ???

the seals on most mk2 have been on the car for about 15yrs so have deterioated. the problem seal is the one that runs up the A-pillar and along the roof edge
fix on the cheap.....
re-align the door first off and see how that is
only other thing you can do is try and get the door to be a tighter fit. just loosen of the door strike pin and tap it inwards a bit. this will squeeze the door into the seals more.
this can ruin the lines of the car a bit as the door sits slightly more in compared to the rear qtr panel. but its all trial n error
alternativly, not so cheap......
replace the main door seal, and re-align the door!

Check the window seals as well, I think mine are split at the top!

Will do thanks guyz, would aplying some sort of rubber restorer help? could make the seals more subtle and thus giving a better seal?

BMW sell this stuff called 'Gummi Phlege' part no 821 1 49 407 015. ?Restores tired seals a treat! ?One I've heard is using old brake fluid as this stuff is designed to lubricate all the rubber seals in your brake system

Worth a shot :) depends on the price if it's form BMW lol
