Got a mk3 GTI, my question is would you bother declaring things like:
VR6 deep chin spoiler
Smoked Indicators - Genuine Hella so OEM
Smoked tow covers - Genuine OEM
Tinting Hella genuine fogs to yellow
Asking as with the chin spoiler and indicators, they are sort of standard items found on different mk3's so don't know whether anyone would notice. And also because I doubt the person on the phone will be familiar with Mk3's they might not realise that the deep chin spoiler is really not much different - dont want to be paying for something if they think its like some paint sprayed big arse body kit thing!
Yellow tinting I suppose is a bit different? any ideas?

Yes as it is not standard.

Call your insurance company and ask. Some companies aren't too fussed about some mods and it wont increase your premium.

defintaly mate, if you where to have an accident and try to claim believe me the insurance assessors would know its not standard and would invalidate your insurance leavng you to cover all the costs.
as said above some companies, such as ourselves, aren't even bothered by most modifications, especailly minor cosmetic mods.
Best bet is to just ring up and see what they say, if your insurer isn't happy or puts its price up then have a shop around with some modification specialists
hope this helps
