How this happened I don't know.
Was fine this morning, I am sure.
Then when I went to the car just now, I noticed it.
So I have obtained 2 bits of damage on my rear bumper today, one around the numberplate housing which I have touched up and now this on the upper part of vinyl section.
I wonder if I can fix it with grey vinyl repair paint or should I get a professional to look at it?
Pretty furious.

Going to contact the guys at Chipsaway too.

Theres nothing worse than getting damage to a car that you didn't do yourself. At least if you do it, you can feel angry at yourself. I hate it when other people do it and don't own up.
I'm struggling to make out which part of the car that is your showing me. I know you mention rear bumper... but ? ? ? ?

It is the top bit of the rear diffuser which is made of dark grey plastic. It runs all along the bumper.
I am sure it was not there this morning when I was having the car washed which BTW they did a crap job of. Had to do it all over again myself. First time for me. Must love Wolfgang!
Off to Hellfords tomorrow to get a vinyl repair kit. Have used this before with some good results.
A sleepless night for me. No, I'll take a Nytol!
How have you left the fitting of the FISCON microphone? Is it on the 'A' pillar now?

Its still in the light for the time being. I'm probably going to order the other one and give it a try - because like you said - I may spend the next 3 years wishing I'd tried it
Its a pain in the ass to move it, so I'll probably just leave it there until the new one arrives. I rarely use the phone apart from 30 second calls... so I'll just have to speak up for a week or two!
Is that the bit where the exhausts sit in?

Is that the bit where the exhausts sit in?
Yes that is it. It is the uppermost part above and slightly to the right of the number plate. Hope I can improve on the little eyesore.
I am glad you are going to give it another go. Really impressed with your photgraphy. Fingers crossed it will work out. When do you think you will get the other microphone?
Soon be my turn to get the RNS 510 + FISCON fitted. What fun!
Saturday was an eventful day.

I'm sorry for your damage, but that doesn't look too bad. Come live in Sicily for awhile and you'll know what I mean.

Been there. OMG, every car is buggered!

Happier now.
Getting the guy from Chipsaway to look at it and sort it out.
-
I did the same to mine - reversed against a small metal post and scraped the diffser, but didn't touch my paint at all, phew. :smug:
I'm going to replace it - took it off today. Four screws and it just clips off and back in, so happy days.
Can't imagine the stealer will charge too much for the part, which I'll fit.

I did not even do that as I have sensors everywhere!
Let's see if the guy from chipsaway can fix it economically.
In the meantime, I will call the prickly dickhead on the parts counter at the sh!tty shoddy stealer and see what a replacement costs and whether it is worth replacing.
Thanks for your post.
Still hacked off!

You are right. The part costs approx £60 and is held by 4 screws. I have ordered it, as it is cheaper to fit the new part than repair the old one!
Hope you get your's fixed too.
Thanks for your valuable information.

No problem - it is dead easy to take off and refit, but you will need a star shape screwdriver head for the middle two screws
I'm waiting for my stealer to call me back so I can order, but that was an hour ago and no one answers the phoone when I call

I waited 10 minutes to speak to the parts prat. But then he was very pleasant, so I forgave him and did not complain. Now I have to wait for them to call me to book it. I am too much of a 'toff' to do it myself: well that's what I keep telling myself!

Get your old one sprayed Gunmetal gloss finish could look pretty good against the Red

I don't know how bad it looks from a distance but i don't think it would be that noticable that i would bother fixing it.

Got my rear diffuser fitted FOC!
I gave the other one to the Honda Bodyshop for colour coding to Gunmetal Grey (just like the front bumper/spoiler) as I know the Bodyshop manager there. Will also get the 2 side sills done at the same time. Should look quite fetching, I hope! Much more convenient as they are just around the corner from me as is the VW Service place. Very happy with this.
