Hi all,
Just got a 150 PD which is an awesome motor but as usual the quest for more power is itching, the car is as far as I know totally standard at the moment and I've just had a brand new clutch and DMF fitted.
I don't want ridiculous power and I don't have a huge wallet so things will have to be done over time but I'd like to know what mods you recommend and in what order? My intention is to do subtle mods and then end up having a remap at R-Tech maybe stage 1 or 2?
The things and order I have gathered so far is as follows:
1. Greencotton panel filter
2. EGR Delete kit
3. Bigger downpipe
So what else?!?!?!?
I also think the standard brakes are crap but I believe the R32 conversion is the difference between night and day! What's the easiest way to acheive better brakes can I just buy a caliper spacer and but bigger disks etc or would I be better fitting EBC drilled and grooved standard discs and a decent set of pads?
Thanks in advance!

remap works wonders on these diesel engines. Mate of mine has a leon cupra TDI (PD 150) with a remap, green cotton air filter and miltek cat back and he's pushing 205bhp ish.

did you have a brand new STANDARD clutch fitted? If so, you've just wasted your money if you're going to up the power. Even just a remap can sometimes necessitate an uprated clutch.

Trust me I did masses and masses of research before I opted for a standard clutch and DMF - I spoke to R-Tech, Awesome GTI and PSI tuning (who did the job). From my understanding the only time you generally have clutch problems is if the clutch is the original in the car and is worn to start with. The advice I was given was that a standard clutch should be fine for about 200BHP 320Ibft and as its brand spanking even if it does start to slip, hopefully it will be further down the line when I can afford it

a remap alone will see you to 200bhp/300lbs...doing more will cause slip

Ah well I'm not getting it mapped yet so the standard clutch is fine I merely want to know what mods to do before I have it mapped. Then I'll run the standard clutch until it dies then get an uprated one when it becomes a problem.
I don't want to change the original subject of this post too much but as you've brought it up clutches what would you recommend:
Single Mass conversion + uprated clutch
Standard DMF + uprated clutch
Thanks,

Full turbo back exhaust
Smooth airbox and pipercross filter and R32 DSG intake mod
Uprated pipework / intercooler
Brakes
Suspension
And DMF + Uprated clutch
