Title: MK4 6Disc boot changer

Ok, so I just bought a 6disc changer for my car, got the cable ran through the car, but when I put the CD player plugged in.. it shows "Error" on my Head unit (Standard gamma head unit)

Also, i'm unable to open the device and get discs in/out.....

Any ideas?? Is it hardware issue, or do I need to set my head unit to read it etc?

I've been quoted over £100 fix, but I'm not sure they knew what they were on about!

If it's an original changer it should just plug and play. Check the connections on the leads, other than that it's a fault with the changer itself.

For the £100 they want to fix it, you could buy an in dash changer from ebay, or another boot mount one for around £60.
