Title: vw has a fatal exceprion error restart?
Post by: carrie on 23 November 2004, 18:58
in the back of last thursdays new scientist.
guy bought new vw the engine would not go while in traffic and the dasboard displayed "epc". called out emergency repair and they had to re-set the car to get it going again using a laptop. epc=electronic pedal control.
according to the engineer if this happens it can often be re-set by turning the ignition off and removing the key, but it needs to go in for repair.
just thought it may help someone one day.

in the future all cars will run on computers which will fail on bends killing people. the machines want revenge dont let them get away with it buy an older car

trouble with service pack 2 is the engine drivers are not approved by the software and will not run

this is due to too many electronics!
electronics are good but there only good when used properly and not made mass production but made with quality and care!
