Finally got a MK4 golf :smiley: but have a few questions it's only the E model so very basic is there anyway I can add genuine VW central locking and electric windows without bodging it all together?

You can get aftermarket kits which will be just as easy and cheaper to install :smiley:
one thing to remember though is its more things to go wrong :wink:

I'm not sure where to look to be honest as mine came with everything fitted :tongue:
typing remote central locking kits into Google brings up a few results - post up the ones you're interested in and we will hopefully be able to advise what you should get
I know one member 'Troublestarter' does stuff like this for a living so hopefully he'll see this and help out :afro:

Also found this as I want an alarm system as well but I don't want lots of set of key fobs and key really want to try and go with just 1 fob with central locking and alarm and key connected would this be good if I bought the above central locking http://www.meanmachines.biz/store/car-alarm-with-remote-central-locking-kit-flick.html

fitting aftermarket remote central on a mk4 will be an absolute nightmare in fact nigh on impossible due to the way the door pin protrudes through the metal inner skin
in this instance i would suggest buying a genuine central locking kit and electric windows (you will have to fit the windows aswell as the central locking is all tied into the windows)
the car may have the wiring already in place in the footwells for the locking etc already but as i have never worked on one without locking already i could not say for certain
if it doesn't then you will need the complete loom including the ccm module and even then if you have the remote keyfob for the new locking it will probably need recoding to the car
personally i would get the original locking etc and add a decent good quality alarm (not the one you linked to that will be rubbish)

thanks also if I do get original vw central locking and electric windows will there be fittings for them by any chance behind the door cards?

no you will need the metal inner skins aswell
i would be very surprised indeed if it did have any wiring in the apart from the front speaker and door pin and puddle light
