hi folks..
just about to renew my car insurance and wondered if anyone can recommend a nice company for me?? at the moment my best quote is about ?480 with adrain flux and first alternative both about the same, does anyone rate one of these companies over the other?? e-sure wouldn't quote me despite having 7yrs no claims...fools !! i might be modifying the car (wheels/exhaust) over the next year so that will be a factor in my choice, will want fully comp with protected no claims and legal cover.
i drive mk4 gti t 150
thanks for any suggestions !!
drive safe y'all ;)

e-sure should have told you to go to their sister company, privilege ! which is exactly what im going to tell you too ;) also i hear brentacre are pretty good.
-
thanks for quick response mate...
have tried privilege already but they were about ?100 more expensive, not heard of brentacre so will give them a go later,
once again thanks for advice ;D

You wanna try elephant, they are pretty good, im 20 and on a GTI Turbo, im paying in my own name, ?1700 fully comp, with no no-claims
-
thanks mate,
will try elephant as well, ...all those companies that advertise on TV saying we'll save you on average ?100 or something, what a crock of sh*t !! ...so far i've found adrian flux and first alternative the cheapest, but i guess it does depend on your situation and everyone is different.
do you know what the charges are likely to be for mods such as after market exhasuts and alloys?? i've heard stuff like an extra ?50 for wheels, but don't know about exhausts, thinking of getting milltek in future.
adios amigos. :)

I'm with Admiral (same company as Elephant I think), and I'm paying just under ?600 (kept in garage, fully comp, 3 yrs ncb, 24 years old).
Cost me about an extra ?20 over the year to have lowered suspension and non-standard alloys.
One of my mates with a 1.8T has just changed insurance and he said that First Alternative gave him a good price
-
Try www.belldirect.co.uk...part of Admiral but got a good price on mk3 GTI (?350 fully comp, 26yr old 6yrs NCB). Previously with Barry Grainger (do a google search) and they were pretty reasonable.
-
thanks again folks, now i have a few more companies to get quotes from.
Richy, that mate of yours who suggested first alternative was me !! its Andy here mate.
hope all is well down south mate.
