hi i have a 1.8 8v and iam losein alot of water over 2/3 days about 1.5l's cant see anyleaks. trying to sort out a overheatin problem in the past i changed the water pump headertank and cap thermo stat fan swich radiator temp sender wich fixed the overheatin problem runs in the middel now just the water loss drivein me mad any ideas?come on jonny show me the way!

What's the underside of the Oil filler cap look like?

Are your carpets wet?
HEATER MATRIX
Do you have a damp patch. Under the car?

ive just put my engine back together and was also loosing water with no visable leaks... it tuned out it was coming from the valve behind the inlet manifold thats connected to your heater controls in the dash... might be worth a look too.

Get it pressure tested should find your leak.

Have a look at the flange to the right of the block (as you look at it from the front) which connects to the metal water pipes (apologies for lack of a better description :rolleyes: ). Had this leak on a mk1 cab and it was a b1tch to find as the water evaporated when it hit the block, so didn't drip on the floor, so couldn't fine the leak. Pah !
