i have a pd150 so it has sports sus and is lowered by 25mm as standard i find the ride a bit harsh sometimes since mostly from fitting 18s now if i was to change to weitec http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/weitec-hicon-gt-coilover-suspension-kitbr-golf-4-14-16-18-18t-19sdi-19tdi-20-23-v5-fwd-0797-p-1595.html would the ride quality be better?
mother in law has passat and the ride quality is great and it is low on 17 standard wheels but wheels sit very close to arch. hoping for same sort of ride quality as passatt.
anyone with them or info please

it will be harder than your current setup

what should i go for then?
also why do some coilovers on adjustable on the rear?
-
nothing apart from vw non sport suspension
if you think yours is hard on the sport suspension then you want a ride in mine :lipsrsealed:
-
would passatt shocks and springs fit golf?
-
no
-
right back to square one lol search continues
-
The Weitec's will be firmer then the standard suspension but not harsh as the damping and rebound rate is very good.

why do some coilovers only adjustable on the rear?
and is it worth getting adjustable damping to as this should soften up the ride when i want to and stiffen up for track?
-
if you think standard suspension is harsh do not even think about coilovers!!!!
-
what am i gone do then need the car lower on 18s as it looks to high. dont mind stiffer and bit harsher but the ones i have now the standard set up is rubbish
-
should i go for springs and shocks rather than coilovers?
-
yes springs and shock, what ever you go for will be stiffer and harsher than the standard setup
Rhyso rates his Eibach springs and bilstein shocks, as does Rich with Eibach springs and shocks. also read good things about weitec springs and shocks all depends on how much you want to spend and what sort of drop your after
-
looking for 40mm drop its already 25mm as standard so think 40mm should be fine and have not got funds for new arb and stuff so carnt really go lower than that got maybe £300

would like some guys to tell me what there running how they find them compared to standarded

As steve says eibach shocks and springs here and only a but harder than the standard set up - only a 30mm drop though

standard is like an air sprung mattress
Bilstein B4 and Eibach springs are slightly firmer but not bone shaking
-
is adjustable damping any good?
-
Personally I think it's only needed if you do a lot of track days. For everyday road use set damping is fine.

I had Koni adjustable suspension years ago, and I absolutely couldnt fault them, handled brilliantly, and also not to harsh!
Also thats a superb price, have a quick google and most places are over £500 for that setup!
