Title: Max wheel width??
Post by: simm_89 on 11 April 2010, 20:25
Hi guys,
Just bought my first golf, and have had it for around two month's now. Im looking for a new set of wheels. Iv'e seen a set i really like, but i was wondering what sizes i could go up to. I know it kind of depends on the wheel, but im just after a rough figure.

Ideally i'd want (if possible) 18x9 rear with an adaptor plate, and 18x8.5 front. Does anybody know if this would be possible?? any feedback would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

Scott

Those sizes are possible, but you would need to run camber plates up front. The rears would probably need some arch pulling to squeeze in too. If you are going low then I'd suggest running 215 or 225 section tyres to help with the fit. This would ruin any handling of the car because of the stretch, but it does look uber cool.
